Training includes strikes, defending against chokes and grabs, multiple opponents, counter grappling and counter weapons including edge weapons(knives) and impact weapons (stick, crowbar etc.) ? The focus is on 2 aspects of self-protection: The soft skills and hard skills. The soft skills are awareness and observation, pre-threat cue recognition, situational control, de-escalation and target hardening. ? The hard skills are your combative tools(strikes) for defending yourself. ? Without covering both aspects of self-protection, you are not effectively training for real life.
