We at Local 47 are proud to represent sheet metal workers, roofers, sheeters & deckers, and production fabricators within the Eastern part of Ontario along the St. Lawrence River from a point just east of Brockville Ontario to the Quebec border. From this point we proceed north along the beautiful Ottawa River to Mattawa Ontario, this is where LU 504 (Sudbury, North Bay, and Timmins) takes over jurisdiction to the north. At this point we turn to the southwest through the wilderness of Algonquin Park and then returning south through various rural counties bordering on the Peterborough area (LU 30) and Kingston (LU 269) jurisdictions to our west, until once again arriving at the St. Lawrence River, which in some-places puts us barely a kilometer from our American neighbours (neighbors) on the opposite shore. As you can see we cover a very large geographic area but we're still only a phone call or an email away.
La Soupe populaire de Hull inc. is a non-profit organization that helps vulnerable people (in the Hull sector) in Gatineau.
La Soupe populaire de Hull is above all a place where people can find comfort, friendship and hope.
By providing a safe living environment, the Hull Soup Kitchen provides the necessary support to vulnerable people who are experiencing problems with poverty, social isolation, homelessness, mental health and addiction.
The Day Center is a place where you can find comfort, build relationships, participate in coffee meetings or workshops.
La Soupe populaire de Hull now has two day centers where hot meals, snacks, support and various activities are offered. In each center, a team of workers welcomes users, assesses their needs and guides them to the services they need on site or in the community. Workers can help people who are looking for housing or who need physical or mental health care by referring them to appropriate services.
