Independent Living Centreof Waterloo RegionThe independent living centre of Waterloo Region (ILCWR) was the first Independent Living Centre in Waterloo in Canada, founded by the Mennonite Central Committee in 1982. ILCWR is a not-for-profit, charitable organization that is dedicated to providing consumer-directed services and programs to help people with disabilities achieve independence. ILCWR depends on dedicated volunteers, fundraising and generous donations from the community to meet the needs of our consumers. Your donation will help give the gift of independence to a person living with a disability in Waterloo Region.

Check out our Employment page for available positions.Find us on FacebookWant to keep updated with the latest FHCA news?Who We AreThe purpose of the FHCA is to promote wellness through recreational programs and related activities, as well as to provide volunteer opportunities, for the residents of our community.We are a volunteer organization, working together with the City of Kitchener to provide social and leisure opportunities for the Forest Heights Community and surrounding areas.We are based in the Forest Heights Community Centre (FHCC). The FHCC currently houses a total of five partners: City of Kitchener staff, FHCA, Kitchener Fire Department, Regional Emergency Medical Services, and the Forest Hill T-Ball Association.The FHCA follows the City of Kitchener's guidelines, policies, and procedures with all of its volunteers and participants in all activities.The FHCA relies on community-minded individuals like you to keep programs and events running.
KDCHC believes that health is a resource for life. The centre promotes awareness and advocates for changes in their community to encourage a broader focus for health and reduce health care access barriers.
