The Beaupre district got its name from a prospector named Beaupre who lived in a cabin by the creek in days gone by. The historic one-room Beaupre Creek Schoolhouse, built in 1925, served as a multi-grade school until it closed in 1962. The Beaupre Community Association was then established and registered and the school was purchased. Some local residents lived in the old schoolhouse until 1964 when it was completely renovated and started serving as a gathering place for the community
