In 1990, Genamation's goal was to be the strongest link between the manufacturer and its customer by providing superior after-sales support. Services included distribution of parts, accessories and supplies, in and out-of-warranty repairs, and later expanded to include advance-exchange warranty programs. This service-only approach made Genamation attractive to manufacturers because many were broadening their distribution channels to include non-servicing resellers, in effect, Genamation solved a growing channel conflict problem for the manufacturers; having to refer non-servicing resellers to competitive resellers who were also service providers. This arrangement allowed manufacturers to consider Genamation a reliable extension of the services they were able to provide end-users and resellers, and thus further enhance their own name in the market place.
