Jaymor School of Dancing in Aurora since 1969 continues its history of excellent dance quality through generations of its graduates. Jaymor boasts a large stand-alone facility with four studios, a lunchroom & comfortable waiting area for parents & siblings. Under the direction of owner Nancy Dinner & her team of professionally qualified teachers, the studio is known for its high level of technique & unique choreography in all disciplines - tap, ballet, jazz, lyrical, modern, musical theater, hip hop & outstanding acrobatic work. Jaymor classes cater to the youngest (age 3) with ECE teachers & has also added adult/seniors (tap) classes to the roster. Jaymor has a traveling competitive team, the Aurora Aerials whereby many students have graduated to various professional levels of dance, teaching & choreography. Five fully equipped studio rooms with rosco and maple sprung floors, full mirrors, ballet barres and professional sound systems, Hoofers Performing Arts in Oshawa is the place to be for professional dancers. A pianist is on staff for all grade levels of ballet, particularly for younger Creative Movement students to help encourage a knowledge of rhythm and musicality. Viewing windows and plenty of waiting area space is available for parents and siblings, along with a new students change room and private fitting room for competitive and recital costuming. A snack bar and homework room is available to students who spend extra time at the studio training. Welcome to the CELTIC STEPS School of Highland Dance. Scottish Highland Dancing offers the grace of ballet, while developing strength, body control and self-confidence. Suitable for boys and girls, 3 years and up!
CELTIC STEPS School of Highland Dance is located in Georgina, Ontario on the south shores of Lake Simcoe and specializes in teaching traditional Scottish Highland Dancing. The studio is owned and operated by Christina Thomas, a Member with the Scottish Dance Teacher's Alliance.
The dancers are taught Traditional Highland and National dances which include the Highland Fling, Sword Dance, Sean Truibhas, Reel of Tulloch, Scottish Lilt and Flora MacDonald's Fancy to name a few. They are also taught choreographies which reinforce technique and basic movements. These choreographies allow the dancers to develop an understanding of music appreciation by utilizing a variety of music styles with Celtic themes.
