Brad grew up in Spruce Grove, Alberta. After graduation from high school with honours he obtained his Bachelor of Science from the University of Alberta. While attending university Brad worked for a landscape construction company as well as in a tree nursery. He then achieved his journeyman ticket in landscaping at Olds College, graduating as top apprentice in 2004/05.
