Born in Grifswald (Grisvalt), Germany, and raised in Alberta, Canada, Dr. Hauk was exposed to the power of naturopathic medicine in his childhood. After a career change in the 80s he completed his pre-med program at the University of Alberta. In 1990, Dr. Hauk graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) in Toronto, and later that year passed the Ontario provincial licensing exams. Until his busy practice made it impractical, Dr. Hauk taught Nutrition and Nutritional Biochemistry at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. For many years he continued to work at the College teaching and supervising 4th year clinicians. Dr. Hauk currently serves as chair of the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors and has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Naturopathic Association, the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors and the Board of Governors of the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine.
