Since 1911, Huron Telecommunications Co-operative Ltd. has provided local telephone service to Huron Kinloss and the surrounding area. Formerly the Huron and Kinloss Municipal Telephone System, HuronTel was one of the first ''subscriber-owned'' municipal telephone systems in the Province of Ontario. Located in the heart of Ripley and with a satellite office in Goderich, Ontario-HuronTel is proud to offer a proud spectrum of telecommunications services. Today, the company provides voice, data (including LAN extension services), Internet, security and cellular services to approximately 10,000 homes, businesses, health care and educational institutions in Mid-Western Ontario. The company also installs and maintains residential and business telephone systems. All of us who work here today, thank our predecessors for the contributions they have made in making HuronTel one of the most successful telecommunications companies in the country.
