Kirby is the owner of both the Fruitvale & Castlegar Valhalla Physio locations. Originally from Saskatchewan he graduated university in 1994 with a degree in physical therapy and moved to the West Kootenays in 2003 where he bought Valhalla. First and foremost Kirby considers himself a sport therapist and has a special interest in the assessment and treatment of the injured athlete. He has worked with athletes in a variety of sports but has a special passion for hockey. He has worked with hockey players from novice to professional, including members of Canada's Olympic Teams and several NHL players. Kirby is also certified by the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute and uses a variety of needle techniques to complement his Physiotherapy practice. He looks forward to many more years of helping the people of Castlegar, Fruitvale and all surrounding areas to KEEP MOVING.

I was born and raised in Czech Republic and then emigrated to Canada in 1969. While married and raising three children I was engaged in competitive sports as well as teaching aerobics, X-C skiing, gymnastics, and yoga. After studying biology at Capilano College in 1993 I entered the WCCMT in 1994 and graduated in December of 1996. The first few years of my career in massage therapy were spent working closely with two Chiropractors in Vancouver. In 1999 I moved to the Kootenays and joined the Slocan Park Medical Clinic where I had the opportunity to work with many medical professionals. I am constantly expanding my knowledge and skills by regularly engaging in post-graduate studies. My goal is to be the catalyst in your healing process by applying my wealth of knowledge, experience and skills to help you achieve the highest quality of life.
