Our parents started the business in Canada in 1976 with the opening of their first store in the heart of Chinatown, Vancouver, Canada. Eventually they opened a few more stores outside Chinatown. It was a successful 20 years of brick and mortar retailing endeavour. In 1996 they decided to close the stores and pursue other interests. But with all the inventory we decided to give it another try. So in 2001 Potters Wheel Gift Shop opened its doors on Pender Street, Chinatown. We operated at this location for 12 years. With changing times and economic circumstances and the advent of the internet we again reached a crossroad and decided to shut down the retail store and set up a virtual store.
