I had been recommended to go to Stephos for the longest time and each time we tried having food the line up was long so we decided to go back later. A friend of mine recommended me to go between 1-5pm so I didn’t have to wait in the line up. I must say that I had never had such great service and delicious Souvlaki in Vancouver. We tried the Lamp Chops, the Calamari Dinner, Humus and the Lamp Souvlaki amongst the 4 of us. The price is great and the food really fantastic. I recommend this place to everyone and trust me it’s worth a wait in the line up to try this place.

Kalamata Greek Taverna is the best Greek restaurant in Vancouver by far.
Everything that we have tried is exceptional, the Humus, Tzatziki, Greek salad, the roast lamb, the lemon roast potatoes.
Portions are big, and the prices very reasonable, the servers are attentive, friendly and efficient.

Maria's is a Kitsilano institution. The atmosphere is everything you would expect a Greek restaurant to offer complete with pictures of Greek scenery adorning the walls. The food is really good and even my wife who is not the biggest fan of Greek food loves the food at Maria's. I usually have what I had on our most recent visit...one of the souvlaki dinners. Our most recent trip I had chicken souvlaki and the chicken was perfectly tender and the potatoes and rice were great too. Next time you have a hankering for Greek food visit Maria's Taverna on 4th!

Unfortunately, when the IOC learned of the Olympia on Denman they became worried the bistro would upstage their event so they set about to shut the little restaurant down.Even though Olympia on Denman was properly licensed and considered a good community neighbor, plus had paid taxes for over two decades, John Furlong, the CEO of VANOC, attacked the little Olympia demanding the restaurant cease and desist all operations.
