The Elizabeth Fry Society of Peel-Halton was first established as a voluntary organization in 1968. The Agency has since expanded to employ more than fifty permanent full-time staff members and a number of contract staff. Our Head Office is in Brampton, with satellite offices in Mississauga and Milton. The Agency also operates two residential facilities and the only two female specific Attendance Centers in the province. The affairs and policies of the Agency are managed by a 10 member volunteer Board of Directors representative of a cross-section of the community. Volunteers are an integral part of the Agency, providing many hours of direct and indirect service to our clients. The Elizabeth Fry Society of Peel-Halton is a member agency of the Canadian Association of Elizabeth Fry Societies, (C.A.E.F.S.), as are twenty-six sister agencies across Canada. We are completely autonomous with, again, our own Board of Directors, Constitution and By-Laws, and individual slate of programs.
