Alistair MacGregor was elected in 2015 as Member of Parliament for the new riding of Cowichan—Malahat—Langford.
He entered Parliament with a track-record of fighting for Vancouver Island families. As a longtime staffer to retiring MP Jean Crowder, he worked tirelessly to connect with local residents, listen to their concerns and advance their priorities. From assisting seniors with pension issues to helping young families struggling to make ends meet, Alistair earned a reputation for delivering results.
A 27-year resident of Cowichan Valley, Alistair has volunteered with local citizen group One Cowichan and is a long-time shareholder in community-supported agriculture. As a two-year board member of Cowichan Green Community Society, Alistair helped promote environmental sustainability and increased food security.
Alistair previously worked as a tree-planting supervisor and a millworker. He holds a BA from the University of Victoria and an MA from Royal Roads University.

Our tag line proudly proclaims we are a 'good place to be'. It refers not just to our locations but also the essence of Boys and Girls Clubs. It is the relationships that are forged between participants and our staff and volunteers. It is the safety and support we provide through our care families and youth programs. It is the specific environments we create that let youth know they are valued and can achieve their potential. THAT is the 'good place' that our programs and services create.
We are a provincially registered not-for-profit organization and a federally registered charity. All services provided by the Society meet the rigourous international standards set by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.Since our inception in 1957, we have continually expanded our facilities and services. Although the Clements Centre Society has grown, we have never compromised our initial vision. At Clements, we envision a community in which all individuals are included, accepted, and valued.
Time for Some Real Solutions - Reclaiming the Commons 2013It's a sad case. In Vancouver a 50-foot lot on the west side with a single family home was only $1.2 million a year ago. Today it is $1.65 million. For the somewhat less pricey average two story Vancouver home, it would take 94% of the average families household income.
