The OBC offers a range of cycling programs which appeal to a range of cyclists from novice to experienced riders. Events vary from relaxed country tours with picnic lunches to fast-action road racing.The Ottawa Bicycle Club provides a unified voice for cyclists in the national capital region to speak to government bodies, organizations and other groups of interest to cyclists.The OBC is run by members -- only through an active membership can the club offer so many programs. Club members volunteer to lead the tours and organize club events. Open to cyclists of all ages, our oldest members are in their eighties, our youngest have just taken off their training wheels.Day ToursThe OBC offers a variety of group riding opportunities. The vanguard of our program is our Sunday Rides program. Sunday tours normally depart from the McDonald's at Billings Bridge.
Butts Giraud, owner and founder of The Dog's Ear, is a man with many stories to tell. In addition to teaching high school, Butts played professional football for the B.C. Lions and Winnipeg Blue Bombers. He wrestled professionally in Canada, the US and Great Britain for 10 years. Butts is a four-time World Bellyflop and Cannonball diving champion and appeared as a guest on such TV shows as To Tell The Truth, What's My Line, Games People Play and NBC Sports World.

The Destination was originally founded as Destination Ski Rentals Ltd. A place where you could go to get ski gear for any mountain so you could cut out the lineups. Fortunately at that time Colleen worked at The Keg for real cash (a waiter named Keith provided us with the first artwork on a napkin), which was a good thing, as Paul went immediately into debt. The idea of providing services with the rentals - things like custom boot fitting and waxed skis was revolutionary. So was the concept of taking home a set of gear for your kids that you could size exchange whenever you wanted, with no new costs.

With that simple belief, our cattle ranch founder, Doug Sinclair, purchased his first parcels of land in the semi-remote region of Cariboo, BC, known for its high quality pastures, and excellent cattle conditions.
