Lighthouse Mission is primarily a soup and sandwich kitchen, serving the immediate needs of Winnipeg's less fortunate. As a registered Canadian charity and Christian humanitarian agency, we partner with organizations, churches, businesses and individuals to provide emergency relief in the form of food, clothing, prayer, spiritual guidance, and friendship to the homeless, and otherwise less fortunate, inner-city community of Winnipeg, in such a manner that conveys the value of those in need.Lighthouse Mission is unique in that, everyone is welcomed through our doors. Whether or not our friends are high, drunk or have previously been violent with us, they are welcome at Lighthouse and to our services. We believe God's heart is most reflected in our unmeasured forgiveness, love and grace toward the broken, hurting, and desperate people who come to us for help.

Calvin Christian Schools are independent Christian schools serving over 500 students in Kindergarten through Grade 12.All Calvin Christian teachers are committed Christian believers and certified teachers with the Manitoba Department of Education and Training. All families wishing to associate themselves with the school must express a Christian faith commitment and agreement with the Purpose and Basis. How is the school governed?Calvin Christian School is owned and operated by a parental society incorporated as the Greater Winnipeg Society for Christian Education. It is not directed or financed by a church or denomination. Members of the school society elect a board of directors that is entrusted with the governance of the school. Is the school funded by the government?Independent schools receive about 50% of the Manitoba per student education cost in the form of a government grant. Our HistoryCalvin Christian Schools comes out of a Reformed religious and philosophical tradition dating back to the eighteen hundreds.
Our StoryIn 1995 God brought a number of people, led by David and Anita Ruis, to begin a community of faith in the core area of Winnipeg. WCV was born out of a desire to create an authentic community of followers of Jesus Christ, devoted to worshiping him with their whole lives, and extending God's justice to the poor and those who are weak. For us worshipping God is much more than singing a few songs on a Sunday morning. It is a whole lifestyle that includes offering everything that makes us human to God – our minds, bodies, emotions, spirits, cultures, as well as social and economic dimensions. Our worship of Jesus does not stop there. It demands a practical outpouring of love to those around us... especially to those on the margins of society. Our worship lacks integrity if we are not expressing our love for God through loving our neighbour. Likewise, everything we do is worthless if we are not doing it from a foundation of being loved by God, and loving him back. James, Peter and John had only one requirement for Paul and Barnabas when they were sent out on their first missionary journey... that they 'remember the poor' (Gal 2:10).
Eastview is a church designed to serve both Christians and those who might consider themselves spiritual seekers. It's a safe place for people who are looking for answers to their spiritual questions, and simply want to check out Christianity without anyone pressuring them. It's also a place where those who have decided to follow Jesus Christ can learn and be encouraged in their spiritual growth. Our vision is simple: to become a biblically functioning community of believers so that Christ's redemptive purposes can be accomplished in this world. Our mission is equally clear: to lead people to Christ and on to maturity in Him.The mission of our church is summarized in a single sentence based on two key scriptures. The Great Commandment: 'Jesus said 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart... soul... and mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and Prophets hang on these two commandments.'' Matt. 22:36-40The Great Commission: 'Jesus said, 'Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.''
Why Advancing Indigenous Missions Engage Today? The Evangelical movement in
the world has changed. At one time, evangelism, church planting, and
discipleship were the mission focus primarily undertaken by the Church in
the West; but now, they are the distinctive marks of the indigenous Church
in many pockets of the World. The Good News of Jesus Christ is bearing fruit
as indigenous Christians faithfully spread the Gospel. Movements are gaining
momentum as the Gospel takes root. Advancing Indigenous Missions Engage
Today was birthed to come alongside indigenous church planting ministries
reaching out to unreached people groups and helping them to equip the Church
for works of service. Who does Advancing Indigenous Missions work with? AIM
ENGAGEworks primarily with the leaders of independent indigenous mission
groups. Through visiting the indigenous missions and building relationships
with them, AIM ENGAGE has come to know our indigenous mission leaders.

Welcome Hope Mennonite Church is a Christian congregation meeting in Winnipeg's West Broadway neighbourhood. We have an average attendance of approximately 60 persons. We seek to be open to and welcoming of all who pass through our doors. Our worship begins at 9:30 on Sunday mornings at Crossways in Common, a multi-use facility housing two churches and numerous community service organizations. Our theological roots are in the Anabaptist-Mennonite tradition. We celebrate the mystery of God's grace and respond by striving to follow Jesus Christ into a life dedicated to peace with justice.
