The Iqaluit District Education Authority are municipally community members elected to represent Iqaluit parents, students and the communityatlarge to the Nunavut Department of Education and Iqaluit schools. The IDEA is legislated to exist under the Nunavut Education Act. The IDEA has subcommittees for each Iqaluit school that work regularly with school administrations to resolve issues and highlight opportunities.The IDEA holds meetings on the first and third Mondays for every month that school is in session. All meetings are open to the public and parents of students are encouraged to attend to share concerns, successes, and ideas.
