I love this spot, for some good drinks and a chat whether I'm on my own or with friends. One of my favourite things about this spot is that they have a variety of foods of different nationalities which is rare to see! I've been loving the new management as well and the changes they've made from the renovations to the changes in the menu. As a vegetarian I appreciate having multiple options to choose from and my favourite at Wylie's is Green Mango Tofu and Olive oil based vege pasta. Read more

I was down at the Old Sod this Tuesday with a few of my buddys for karaoke and had an awesome time. I can't remember the DJ's name but he was a blast and got right in there with you. The girls were giving great service also(and GREAT looking also). I will deffinitely be going back very soon. Read more
We built The Mugshot Tavern to be a different kind of neighbourhood bar. We wanted a place where we could bring together our love of food, beer, and bar-type-atmosphere. The Mugshot Tavern really is a labour of love; after all, we basically built this place ourselves with our own hands (and with the help of a whole lot of other people's hands). After we left a bar that we worked at together, we had a 'we'll show you moment' when we decided it was time for us to take everything we learned in the service industry and build our own version of the classic neighbourhood bar.
Shakey's was originally owned by Mike Walton who was known in the hockey world as Mike 'Shakey' Walton Number 16. He played for the Toronto Maple leafs and won Stanley Cup with them in 1967. As a second career he chose to open a bar in Bloor West Village
I was in Shakey's a year ago and it has completely changed, I visited recently with some girlfriends and we had a fantastic meal. The owner has renovated the entire place to give it a 2010 pub look and has still kept the theme of a sports bar. Good job on the reno's, the menu looks great with some of the typical sports pub food such as nachos, hamburgers and wings. However the rest of the menu is quite amazing, from my understanding the waitress mentioned that Chris is a new addition to the staff and is the brother of the owner. He actually is coming from fine dining and is now helping run the kitchen. I will be back again and this time were bringing our husbands. Read more
