I've been going to Mandarin restaurants with my family since I was a kid. It's been years since I've gone, and it's every bit as fun and delicious as I remember. Also, the staff at this particular location were lovely. Very attentive, polite, and helpful. In fact, it was the service that inspired me to leave this review. A fine location for a Canadian staple!

Swiss Chalet Franchised first united in the year of 1954 and has been a Canadian favorite ever since. Swiss Chalet is known for its fresh on premise rotisserie chicken; the slow roasted chicken is also served with Canadian potatoes and simmering delicious Chalet dipping sauce. Swiss Chalet, is also known for its incredible tender grilled ribs, also served with sides of fresh cut fries, that makes Chalets food so delicious.
Every Swiss Chalet location has a family orientated atmosphere. The setting consists of casual tables and booth seating as many as twelve customers, comfortable chairs and simple artwork covers the walls. We were lucky enough to be placed beside a warm brick fireplace, on a cold winter afternoon.
As we walked in, we were instantly greeted by the host at Swiss Chalet on Dundas Street in Cambridge, Ontario. He led us to our booth within minutes, as the waitress made her way to our table. The energy around us from the staff, customers and store were welcoming, warm, and crucial to how comfortable, and suitable our lunch was going to be.
The rotisserie chicken club wrap with fries, along with the rotisserie quarter chicken meal with whipped potatoes was ordered during our visit, with excellent service and time management. The server was friendly, engaged in conversation and interest of what we were ordering and how satisfied we were with our Swiss Chalet experience.
Our overall experience at Swiss Chalet, the Cambridge location was delightful. We encourage many individuals to take their date, spouse or family to the nearest location for their next great dinner experience for delicious food, friendly service and comfortable setting.

After learning I would be dining alone tonight, I decided to try a tiny little place I had heard mentioned recently. My waiter was attentive, pleasant and quite knowledgeable about the food he was serving. The overall atmosphere was pleasing and would be the perfect setting for a romantic meal.
The choices offered, combined with the soothing surroundings peaked my curiousity enough that I decide for the second time in the evening to try something new.
I tried the Bison burger with Warm Potato salad. The server described it to me as a Bison burger with caramelized onions, smoked cheddar, truffle scented mushrooms and barbecue sauce.
Jake & Humphreys make all their own bread items that appear on their menu, the combination of the Bison, toppings on a fresh and soft bun, made the whole item a palate pleaser.
A nice glass of South African Cabernet Sauvignon enhanced what was already a sumptious dining experience.
I will be returning to the restaurant again, definitely a great place to dine, relax and enjoy.
Perhaps next time I will take someone with me or perhaps I will again go and enjoy another romantic meal for one!
Hopefully next time I have room for dessert as they looked promising!

This classic setting overlooking the river and waterwheel complements the casual, fine dining perfectly. The patio has a great view and a casual menu. Inside the cozy fireplace is very romantic or you can get a very private dining room for business or family events. Food was excellent with good variety and local flavours. Definitely worth the short country drive for a complete night out experience. Not nearly as expensive as I thought.

I work in customer service, so I understand that things don't always go as planned. It is how an establishment deals with their mistakes that really shows how good they are , in my humble opinion.
We go to Swiss Chalet all the time, the food is always hot and delicious and up to the Swiss Chalet Standard, the service is usually pretty good, quick for sure and the restaurant smells good and is clean.
We often order take out from this location, and we have had a few problems, orders not being filled correctly, no gravy for the poutine, little things like that. One time we ordered and they called back 30 minutes later to tell us there was a snow storm and the delivery person went home!
Needless to say I complained. I got a personal response from the Manager appologizing for our bad experience and comping us for two 1/4 chicken dinners! WOW, I thought that was just great. I get that mistakes are made, but I have never had anyone take responsibility and compensate me so quickly and politely! Since then we have ordered a few times and we haven't had anymore problems.

My friend casually said as we drove, have you tried "Wok's Taste"? That's where we get our Chinese food." I said "No." He made a detour and drove me past the unassuming storefront. They've been there for years, and have a full menu with all the favourites. Today I tried it. I ordered way too much for delivery and glad I did! It will not be wasted! The young lady on the phone told me delivery would be 45 minutes. Right on time, my food was there, steaming hot Chinese food and delicious!

The food, atmosphere and service were excellent. Pasta dishes were tasty even though they were vegetarian, my grilled salmon was cooked to perfection and the sirloin steak was yummy. The place was very clean, will be back soon....
