This tiny place is right across from the Reverb on Queen. It's open late and great for after-bar food... I did give service a nine only because the line is usually out the door! Hot, Yummy falafel (or donair i think if you like). Just a warning though, this place is TINY and the menu is not that big from what I remember. If there were other categories like atmosphere and stuff I'd have to rate this place poorly. It's pretty much takeout only.
Always good though!!! If you're hungry and near queen and bathurst give it a try :)Read more

Utsav is an ancient Sanskrit word meaning festival. An integral part of Indian culture, Indian festivals are innumerable and equally varied in origin from the Himalayan foothills to the Peninsula's tip and food plays a very prominent part of the festive events. Each dish has its own distinctive flavor and aroma, thanks to the fresh spices that are prepared everyday for each individual dish. The blending and preparation of fresh spices is a centuries old exacting craft, which is indispensable to Indian cuisines.

A party of 3 international travellers were seated at one of the many small quaint tables. The decor resembled that of both Thai and Indian, as did the menus. There were 2 other small parties seated but did not disrupt our experience.
Service was immediate and very polite. Beverages were served first and promptly. The wait between entrees and the main course was a little longer than common.
The food was edible but not as refined as I would have liked. Tandoori chicken was a little too burnt. Green Curry seemed watery and lacked substance. Chicken masala did not have as much flavor as most. The garlic naan was delicious, moist and crispy. Mango Lassis were perfect. Saffron rice was light and fluffy.
This place paid close attention to details with respect to the presentation of the food, prompt service, ambiance and environment. This raised my overall score.Read more

I visited the Richmond hill location recently for the first time. Considering it was a Monday the restaurant was almost full , a little wait and I was seated by a gracious lady ( I think one of the owner's family).I liked their ambience (they have recently renovated) and efficient service. The food was just awesome. Butter chicken was delicious , lamb chops tender and the black dal complimented the whole meal. Nan was soft. Ask for seat in glass round room.Read more

Kamasutra Written in ancient Sanskrit, (for the eyes of the ruling elite only), it's a doctrine dedicated to the celebration of love. Having studied it from every angle (purely for culinary inspiration!), we realize the words are, in fact, a metaphor for 'the love of food'. Our culinary team has stayed true to the actual origin of each dish. No stone is left unturned in our quest to provide our guests with a remarkable dining experience.
My boyfriend had planned a surprise birthday party at Kamasutra. I showed up at the restaurant thinking I was in for a quiet dinner with him, but he had my friends & family waiting at the restaurant without my knowing. Service & the food was fantastic. This was my first visit & my boyfriend's second visit. He had a business dinner at Kamasutra with some associates and loved it. Now we will be visiting Kamasutra frequently.Read more

When transplanted Toronto businessman Alnoor Sayani opened Lahore Tikka House in 1996, it was just a handful of tables and a big dream. This Indian-Pakistani resto in Leslieville has since become an important social hub for the South Asian community, celebrated for its community-drawing powers as much as for its special cuisine. Newly renovated in authentic street-style decor, Lahore Tikka House draws crowds hungry for its soft naan, chicken biryani and butter chicken decadence. They stay for the collegial atmosphere and to remember the strength of Sayani's dream.
Not only does your food come fast, but it's been marinating for quite some time. This is how Indian food ( and Pakistani) is actually cooked. If you go to an Indian restaurant and you're waiting for an hour and a half for your dish thinking it's going to be fresh and that's how it's made, you're wrong. Indian food takes HOURS to make. The sauces and spices need time to sink into the meat, and they do exactly that at Tika house.
The service is great, they're always on top of your water and they don't expect you to tip!
People might complain about the atmosphere but the reason why they made the place like that is because in India and Pakistan the best tasting places are done up like Tika house so you can focus on the food instead of the decor. The washrooms are very nice though!
Best Indian place in the city. Don't bother going anywhere else.Read more
