Owner John Guy moved across the water from Nova Scotia in 1980. As his career took him across the world he wanted a project to keep him connected to home.

From just a tiny street-front office, Coastal Paving, Inc. offered its clients the best asphalt paving services around. The name inspired by Cliff Heaps' love for boating, the beach and the marinas of Huntington Harbor which he had left a few months earlier.
