Since opening the first Terminal Forest Products sawmill in the early 1960's, there have been many changes in the forestry industry. Technology, environmental concerns, political and buying trends have influenced the way this and other forest companies now do business. In light of all these changes, we remain steadfastly committed to our founding belief to grow our business through strong relationships with our customers and communities. Providing our customers with the highest quality products available is a key focus at Terminal.
On a tour of the mill today with a little group from Kerrisdale Seniors Centre I learned how a log becomes saleable lumber for commercial customers to refine further for their purposes. It was a privilege to see the expertise of all the staff - something like choreography. Each person knew what he was doing and why before passing the wood to the next part of the operation. Their knowledge, skill, and efficiency (strength and stamina)are admirable (astounding to me).

Millwork building materials are historically any wood mill-produced building construction interior-finish, exterior-finish, or decorative components. Stock profiled and patterned millwork building components fabricated by milling at a planing mill can usually be installed with minimal alteration. Today, millwork also encompasses items that are made using alternatives to wood, including synthetics, plastics, and wood-adhesive composites.
Millwork building materials include the ready-made carpentry elements usually installed in any building. Many of the specific features of the space are created using different types of architectural millwork: doors, window casings, and cabinets to name just a few. The materials used in millwork items today are most often graded-lumber, code compliant fasteners, various glasses, and other decorative coatings and finishes. Most millwork building materials can be installed with little or no modification as part of the construction process.
