Nishi was instrumental when it came time to launch my Ask Dr. James brand. I wanted to start a blog and build an audience to help establish my reputation as a health and wellness professional in Toronto. She designed and set up my WordPress blog, then taught me how to update it myself. Although it seemed very high tech at first, she made it very easy to understand. She also coached me on the types of topics I should cover in my blog, as well as writing style and approach. I still consult with her on a regular basis for her creative direction and proofreading skills.

After graduating from the Law School of the University of British Columbia, I was called to the bar in Ontario in 1996. For the first five years of my practice, I worked in the Intellectual Property group at Gowling, Lafleur, Henderson LLP, then left in 2000 to work on my own and pursue other interests. I attended the Ontario College of Art & Design until 2003, while opening my own practice specializing in art, entertainment and intellectual property. I am still working exclusively in those areas and I provide smart, intelligible advice to a variety of clients including advertising and marketing firms, film and television producers, artists and musicians, and small businesses. I have taught extensively in the areas of entertainment, intellectual property, contract and small business law, including a decade at the Harris Institute for the Arts, and frequent seminars at the Ontario College of Art & Design. My husband, Tom and I have two young children, Maude and Desmond, and we live in the Junction in Toronto.
