Our Purple Dragon branch celebrated 16 years in the Kitsilano Community this past March. Head Instructor, Owner, Sensei Amber Murphy has been a student of founder Professor Don Jacob for over 21 years. Our Instructors teach Purple Dragon's style of Don Jitsu Ryu to ages 4-Adult. We also specialize in Cardio Kickboxing, Women's Self Defense and private classes. Purple Dragon is a community that focuses on supporting each other mentally, physically and spiritually to grow forward. Members gain confidence to apply in school, the work place and everyday life. Purple Dragon's Don Jitsu Ryu System is practiced by thousands in 12 countries worldwide.Our competition team travels internationally competing in World Championships and is supported through the Purple Dragon Kitsilano Youth Society. Foremost, our main focus is quality Martial Arts, understanding the bunkais (applications) and the dynamic techniques of Don Jitsu Ryu.

Mr. Franco started Franco Kickboxing/Pankration in 2004. Converting a school that was formally known as a traditional karate school to being one of the most reputable Pankration dojos in Canada. Mr. Franco founded the very first school in Canada to teach Pankration and has competed at a world class level. He has trained some of the top MMA fighters to come out of western Canada. Mr. Franco has 8 Pro fighters that he has trained as well as over 20 amateur fighters with over 240 active students. Mr. Franco teaches 80% of all his classes and oversees all his training. Commitment is the first chapter in the book of excellence.
