When I hear, “Rowanwood” the words family, love, caring, and nurturing come to mind. Both our boys grew up at Rowanwood and were loved, cared for and taught. As a parent you know you’ve made the right decision when you pick up your child at daycare and they tell you “wait mum! I’m not ready to go yet. Five more minutes mum? Please?” Our boys have since started school, but Rowanwood, the staff & Behnaz who has been a staple there from the get go will always have a special place in our hearts!

Service was exceptional!!! The owner of the restaurant and his wife (I wish we asked for their names but unfortunately didn’t) were extremely nice the whole time!
Also accommodated really well for a nut allergy, which is uncommon in my experience, so big thanks go to their chefs.
The food was incredible. Definitely a must try for Korean BBQ if you’re in the area.

Our focus is versatile. While our foundation is Oriental Raqs Sharki, composed by both Egyptian and American Oriental styles, our classes spring from a vision that is open to the exploration of diverse styles: from the traditional rich folklore variety of the Middle East to the modern developments of Bellydance fusion and the enthralling images of Bellydance fantasy. Our view of bellydance is spiritually and creatively inspiring, free in its exploratory component, yet grounded in a deep understanding of the roots of the dance. Dragonfly Dance is a unique school, forming students in traditional Egyptian Dance but also well rounded artists knowledgeable and skilled in different international bellydance styles and both traditional and modern bellydance props.
The school is surrounded by stable, mature neighbourhoods with a variety of housing, park land, a modern multi-use recreation facility and a new community library nearby. 2012-13 is our first year as a K-8 school. As a result of a recent Accommodation Review Committee in this area, two former feeder schools (Peter Secor Jr. and Heron Park Jr.) were closed and a major addition of Kindergartens and primary classrooms were built. From these different schools we all have blended together to work well in harmony, in a peaceful, cooperative and respectful learning environment.
