For those of you who are new to Shito-ryu Itosu-kai Karate, welcome. From this day forward you are part of an ancient and honorable martial art form.Karate, freely translated means "empty hand" or the ability of the practitioner to defend themselves without the use of weapons. However, only the student with an open heart and mind can master empty hand techniques.Karate classes begin with "mokuso", a meditative moment before instruction starts. It is at this time the student should clear their mind of everyday worries leaving it ready to receive instruction. The practice of "Shito-ryu Itosu-kai Karate" is an invitation to a lifetime of friendship, physical fitness and spiritual strength. As a beginner, you may find the discipline difficult and wearing but remain persistent and dedicated. The practice of martial arts requires training of spirit, mind and body. Therefore you will be working three times as hard as you would in other sports. Remember that all of your instructors felt awkward and, at times, overwhelmed in the beginning.By enduring and remaining true to the art you will soon begin to experience "budo" or the martial arts way. You will learn to use the power of your mind to defeat an opponent long before you need to use your fists or feet.Study hard, practice diligently, and follow the instructions of your senseis. Jump Restaurant invites you to their establishment. They are open late from Monday to Friday. You can get there not only by public transit but also by bicycle. They are in a lively neighborhood known for its nightlife.
Even a snowstorm doesn't keep Toronto diners down, as we discovered last weekend at Jump in January. It was quieter than usual due to the weather, but our food was very good. We had an extremely affable waiter from England. The service started out a bit slow, with water poured and wine ordered but 25 minutes before some bread arrived. If we hadn't been so hungry beforehand we might not have noticed. Otherwise, the food was excellent. The Bacon-Wrapped Boneless Quail appetizer was absolutely delicious. The Wild & Tame Mushroom Soup was good, but as we told our server, it needed some cream to give it more depth and round out the taste. The Mahogany-Glazed Black Cod with Lentils was very good, and my partner had the delicious Beef Tenderloin. We'll come back again, but the pacing is a bit slow, so you can't be in a hurry if you're dining here. Read more
The Devon is located on the concourse level of the Toronto Dominion Tower, on the east side of the tower just north of Wellington Street.
Came on the basis of great reviews so expectations very high. My gf had a huge fish plate that she thoroughly enjoyed. I had a burger that was exceptionally satisfying. We shared a salad that was sublime. Every patron in the lunch seemed to be sharing our experience which included enjoying the waitresses body and looks. Decor far from eloquent or even upscale but all else including waitress makes up for the modest setting. Read more

Come enjoy a delicious creation at Luckee Restaurant. Their bar is the perfect spot for after dinner drinks. They are open at night all week and are easily accessible by bicycle and public transit. They are in a lively area acknowledged for its nightlife.
Rich upscale restaurant connected to a rich upscale hotel, Luckee is on that level where people take your coat before they seat you. They accomidated a large party for lunch in a deceptively private room with quite a lot of baggage. Ordered the dim sum basket to start with the luckee duck bowl for main which were cooked perfectly, wrapped and presented amazingly. The panna cotta was rich and delicate and that perfect mangoy flavour. A treat and a pleasure Read more
