Al Scott Lock & Safe was started in Vancouver from the ground up in 1973. The first service truck was a 1963 GMC pickup truck with a homemade camper for a shop on the back of the truck. The business was started by Allan and his wife Eileen Scott. Al saw the need for a locksmith company to provide professional locksmith service that would master key the large commercial buildings and keep an accurate file of the codes for the convenience of the building management people and also provide better building security. Over the next 13 years the Scott's with the help of many people were able to build a company with 6 mobile units and 2 stores.
