Upon completing his college preparatory course at the Phillips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire, Dr. Brown matriculated at Harvard University, where he received an A.B. in Classical Languages in 1952.That same year he entered the Jesuit order, where he was ordained to the priesthood (1963) and received licentiates in philosophy (1957), theology (1964), and Biblical studies (1969). He also taught Latin and Greek at Xavier High School in New York City (1957-1960).
