The Spirit of the Island represents our philosophy of serving fresh local West Coast cuisine and in house hand crafted ales and lagers nestled within beautiful landscaping and natural west coast wilderness. The Longwood Brew Pub is central Vancouver Island's only Brew Pub and Nanaimo's favorite rendezvous destination. Our traditional ales are hand drawn using classic original English beer engines and are served at a cellar temperature of 10 Centigrade (50 F.) while out cold ales and lagers are served out of our custom ceramic beer towers at 5 Centigrade (40 F.) These serving methods and temperatures allow our patrons to enjoy our beers in the manner and temperature that they were meant to be.

A pub in the time-honoured style, The Butcher & Bullock has been a popular hangout for the downtown business set for 20+ years. Dark brown wainscoting and aged black & white photos complement the room's traditional furnishings and various conversation pieces. The Butcher & Bullock regulars crowd the comfortable room to loosen their ties, enjoy modern pub food, take in a game and just relax. The games area features a pool table, video games and a jukebox fully loaded with both new and classic tunes. The Butcher & Bullock also features 28 types of craft and domestic beer, custom cocktails and an extensive wine list.
