Cathedral Court Co-op is one of two co-ops in the St.Lawrence Neighbourhood that contain a group home for developmentally disabled children. New Visions Group Home, a tenant ofthe Co-op, was established by the founders of the Co-op in townhouses 75-95 to provide family-style care for Ceci Heinrichs, thedaughter of one of the founding members, and other children suffering from neurological disabilities.
Muriel Collins Housing Co-operative (MCC) is a two-building complex located right downtown. There is a courtyard that connects the two buildings. The South Market houses more than 50 gourmet food vendors and over a dozen lunch counters. Upstairs, the Market Gallery shows archival art and photographs from the City's collection and the North Market is home to the 200 year old Saturday Farmers' Market and Sunday Antique Market.
St. Lawrence Co-operative Day Care Incorporated is operated by a a Parent Board of Directors, licensed under the Provincial Day Nurseries Act St. Lawrence Co-operative Day Care Incorporated believes children learn through play. Play is the cornerstone where children have the opportunity to actively explore and learn through materials and their environment. Play facilitates the development of the whole child including, social, emotional, physical, cognitive and creative abilities. In order for children's play to be meaningful, the experiences need to reflect each child's skills and needs.

Charles Hastings was incorporated in 1983 through the Co-operative Housing Federation of Toronto (CHFT). The first members moved in October 1984 and some of them still live here. Eight members volunteered to form the first Board of Directors and they, together with CHFT, oversaw the development of the Co-op. Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CHMC) provided a 35-year mortgage financing package under one of the Federal Housing Act programs.
