Custom kitchens uses top quality premium plywood for all boxes as well as plywood dovetail drawers, blum soft hinges and glides for all the hardware. All cabinets are stapled and fastened with screws to ensure the strength of the cabinets. 5/8" is the smallest thickness we use in our quality cabinetry. This includes full backs on all cabinets and plywood bases. We will make your space work for you! Our cabinets have all of the qualities that premium cabinets should have to stand the test of time. My journey into cake decorating started with my oldest daughter's first birthday cake. I wanted to create something really special to mark her first year so I made a "healthy" carrot cake in the shape of a lady bug. I don't think my daughter even had a bite of it and it was pretty goofy looking but it sure gave me a craving to create more cakes. Each year I would look forward to creating something special for my kid's birthdays. And with each year I would give myself a new challenge and create a cake even better than the last. Not too long ago I started filling orders and creating fun and amazing cakes for other people. I have found it to be such a thrill to be able to marry my passion for baking with my fine art skills. While I was traditionally trained in printmaking/studio arts at Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design, my skills as a baker were acquired while working eight years at Terra Breads in Vancouver.
