My daughter danced at the Walnut Grove School of Music and Dance for fifteen years. Grace experienced a wide variety of dance genres such as ballet, jazz, lyrical, and contemporary. The dance teachers are exceptional and along with their caring attitudes, knowledge & expertise made my daughter's experiences so memorable. Triple Threat was created from our experiences as students and professionals in the entertainment industry, and has progressed to become a collaboration of not only our ideas, but the ideas of students, teachers and parents who have been part of the Triple Threat experience.
We have 4 air conditioned studios and offer all types of classes for both recreational as well as competitive students (aged 2-18). Most classes are 45 minutes or one hour in length, but there are some half hour classes for the younger ones. We teach from Monday to Sunday from September to June. There is a year-end show in June that all of the children participate in.
Douglas Ballet Academy is home to the internationally acclaimed Youth Performing Company here in Burnaby. We have taught ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, musical theatre and Irish dance classes to students of all ages and skill levels since 1992. Steel School range in age from 4 to adult and classes range in level from new beginner through open championship. Since the school opened, dancers have competed and been successful at Regional, National and the International level. The Steel School of Irish Dance is a competitive school.
The point of studying the Arts is to perform! Performing gives students the confidence they need to succeed in a professional career of any kind. Stage experience is available to all performers throughout their training at Dance Expressions, enabling them to develop confidence, poise and stage manners. Our dancers perform at in-studio viewing weeks; bring a friend classes and creative showings during the year. All students taking regular yearly (Sept – June) classes at our studio also participate in our Year End Shows.
The school Pacific DanceArts offers three training programs: a general dance training program for students from preschool to advanced level, a professional ballet / dance training program for students who intend to pursue a professional career in dance, and Coastal City Ballet, a pre-professional ballet company with a mandate to provide an increased platform for advanced young dancers to showcase their talents and deepen their skills through performing, while exploring career possibilities within the field of dance.
