Alana Biffert's profound dedication to the artistry of glass is a reflection of her unwavering commitment and deep-rooted passion for the Arts. Her formative years were spent immersed in the glass culture of Malta, a Mediterranean island, where her childhood dreams revolved around the art of glassblowing. In 2008, Biffert earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Glass from Alberta University of the Arts, setting the stage for her remarkable journey. A pivotal turning point came when she secured a transformative position as a Glass Technician at Red Deer College through local volunteer work. This opportunity opened doors to collaborations with renowned local artists, ultimately propelling her into the realm of professional glass artistry. Embracing every opportunity with an adventurous spirit, Biffert's artistic journey extended across the globe, from New Zealand and Australia to Croatia. Over the course of fourteen years, she has fervently pursued her passion, and now, she finds herself back in Alberta, eager to impart the wealth of knowledge and inspiration she has amassed. For seven years, she devoted herself to teaching glass at Alberta University of the Arts, sharing her artistic insights with aspiring creators. She continuously hones her craft by attending prestigious institutions like the Corning Museum of Glass and other renowned studios, all in pursuit of mastering the intricacies of this demanding medium.
