Don't Diet!Did you know that 95% of people who lose weight on a diet, gain all the weight back and usually more? Annual ReportOur StoryThe Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata Centre Inc. was established in 1984 to reclaim Aboriginal peoplés inherent role and responsibility as the caregivers for Aboriginal children and families in Winnipeg.We are a community mandated, Aboriginal directed and supported human service organization, delivering children in care and community based programs and services to Aboriginal families.Today, with over fifty (50) programs, eleven (11) sites, and 200+ staff and volunteers, Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata Centre provides a valued local presence in key neighbourhoods where our community lives.All Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata Centre programs and services are developed and operate within a philosophy that is embodied in the name of the center. The name Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata translates from Ojibway into the phrase 'we all work together to help one another'. These words reflect the vision in the concept of collective responsibility and reciprocity towards helping each other.Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata Centre has invested in a neighbourhood based practice model aimed at identifying innovative policy and practice initiatives to create and sustain family supported neighbourhoods
The Centre's Director/Curator programs all exhibitions and related or adjunct events (performances, readings, lectures, projects) with the input of an Advisory Panel. One slot each year is reserved for exhibition proposals brought to the attention of the Director/Curator through the Centre's open submission policy.

FPS is a psychological practice with a multidisciplinary clinical team. Our practice is oriented to working with people in a holistic manner, addressing core issues related to problematic functioning with a strength-based orientation to facilitate change, personal growth and wellness.
FPS offers two clinical streams. FPS Psychological Health Services provides general psychological services attending to an array of personal issues. Areas of specialization include addictions, abuse and trauma, emotion management and relationships. Forensic Psychological Services provides assessment, treatment, consultation and training in areas related to the application of clinical services in legal systems and to individuals who have come in contact with the law and/or demonstrate problematic behaviours that have the potential to bring them in conflict with the law. Both FPS streams provide services to children, adolescents and adults and offer culturally attentive and relevant services.
