My name is Dawn Piche. In 1989 while serving in The Canadian Armed Forces, I started my training company, K9 Kindergarten. After leaving the military in 1997, I moved back home to Winnipeg and established Canada's Canine Academy.Operating solely on a referral basis, the company flourished, showing a demand for a qualified Behaviour Specialist. As a result of the demand, the company went public.I became the only recognized Certified Pet Dog Trainer (CPDT) in Manitoba in 2004. This certification is recognized around the world by the Certification Council out of New York (CCPDT).To maintain this certification we are required to keep up with Continuing Education Units. This allows certified trainers to provide their clients with the most proven methods of behaviour modification.
The idea of Sprockett's Doggy Day Camp (SDDC) has been created to support the growing number of people who realize that dogs are not just pets, they are a part of the family. They are individuals with unique personalities and those who are crated or isolated for extended periods are deprived of social interaction and can become destructive or depressed. Today?s busy lifestyles make it difficult to give them the attention, training, exercise, and mental stimulation necessary for happy and well-rounded lives. This is where Sprockett?s Doggy Day Camp comes in!At SDDC we will be committed to providing a healthy, fun, clean environment for your best friend during the day. We focus on a structured schedule that includes play times, nap time, and lots of new friends so that at the end of the day your dog is a happier, healthier, better-behaved member of the family. The dogs are split into energy and size appropriate groups so that you don?t have to worry about your older dog being harassed by the young pups and your little dog being trampled by a Saint Bernard. The name of Sprockett

New Winnipeg Pet BylawAbout UsA true Mom and Pop pet store, one of the last of its kind, Aardvark Pets is a unique experience for pet owners and pets alike. Jeff runs the store, and Jackie is the groomer. Winnipeggers by choice, we moved here to open the store in 1999 from Toronto. We have never regretted a moment here, falling in love with Winnipeg from the day we moved here with our daughter Mary, who now works at the store too. Taking the best from the old and the new, Aardvark offers its customers cutting edge products, extensive selection, and attractive prices while still maintaining old time customer service. 100% independent, we stock products from all manufacturers, and can actually have the newest products on our shelves well before the big chains and box stores, as well as unique products you won't find elsewhere. While many stores are reducing or eliminating live animals from thier stores, we still offer a complete selection of fish, birds, small animals and even reptiles in store.
Great people & lots of selection that I haven't seen elsewhere in Winnipeg. Now all I have to do is find a consistent supply of flushable litter as I toilet train my 3 month old cat.Read more
