How is the school governed?Calvin Christian School is owned and operated by a parental society incorporated as the Greater Winnipeg Society for Christian Education. It is not directed or financed by a church or denomination. Members of the school society elect a board of directors that is entrusted with the governance of the school. Is the school funded by the government?Independent schools receive about 50% of the Manitoba per student education cost in the form of a government grant. Programs are at the heart of what we do in Seven Oaks. In every one of our schools, we provide rich opportunities for students to engage in the provincial curricula. At the same time, we recognize that every learner is unique, and if we are to meet their needs, we need to be flexible and innovative in establishing programming.
CrossRoads Learning Centre is committed to providing adult learners with the opportunities, experiences and academic preparation essential for both post-secondary education and employment. We will provide knowledgeable, dedicated teachers in a safe, challenging, and caring educational environment where instruction and assessment are aligned with high standards.program overviewCrossRoads Learning Centre, in co-operation with Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology (formerly Winnipeg Technical College), and Manitoba Multiculturalism and Literacy, has embarked on a 10-month program to provide Grade 11-12 Credit Courses to adults who are 19 years of age or older and have been out of school at least six months. The goal of our program is to meet the educational needs of our students in order to prepare them to pursue further training at the post-secondary level or to secure meaningful employment.
