Distinctive Audio started as a part time retail business in February 1986 selling audiophile equipment, records (LP's), magazines and accessories. In early January 1988, the business moved to it's present location (903 Carling Ave), and has been located there for more than 25 years. We are certainly one of the most stable audio business in the Nation's Capital as more than 25 audio stores closed doors since Distinctive Audio started in 1986. Over all these years, Distinctive Audio has been importing numerous higher end brands from USA as well as retailing brands from several Canadian manufacturers of high fidelity and purchasing from several Canadian importers of audiophile equipment and accessories from Europe, USA, and Asia. In the last few years, we have been concentrating mostly in two channels stereo equipment selling solid state and vacuum tubes components. And, this is where our expertise is.
