What began as a part-time, seasonal, add-on to our mixed farming operation has grown to a full-time year-round greenhouse operation. In 1973 we started with 2000 sq.ft. of greenhouse. Today we have over 60,000 sq.ft., with an additional 7 acres of outdoor growing area for garden mum production. Dave and Carol Steckle's 3 children grew up helping in the greenhouse after school. In 1991, Kevin, a Ridgetown College horticulture graduate, joined the family business as a partner.In 1992, Huron Ridge Acres became a member of Ontario Flower Growers Co-op to expand our wholesale business. New plant introductions create an ever changing demand for a good quality product - a challenge we take pride in accomplishing.
