A friend of mine suggested that I come to a class at Western Karate Academy where his family studied Shokaido. So I went to watch and within a few minutes I knew this was the place for me. Sensei Doan is very understanding and compassionate about each one of his students...
The students themselves are made to feel a part of a very fine family. When working with each other we learn the most we can to the best of our abilities and it helps us to develop our character within.
The people in the academy make you feel welcome right from the first time you walk thru the door. Now martial arts is not for everyone but how will you know unless you give it a try?

Dr. Janic is a highly skilled, friendly dentist with a good sense of humour. He did two fillings for me today and it was the best experience with the procedure I've ever had. He's gentle and considerate with the process and works quickly, yet diligently. When it was done I was taken aback at how quick and pain free it was! Dr. Janic is one of Kamloops best. Definitely recommend him!

Gerhard “Gary” Gemsa, owner of Gary’s European Sausage, learned his trade through a long process of schooling and then an apprenticeship in Germany in the early 60s. Summit Medical Clinic has been a part of Kamloops since the early 1990s. Two young doctors moved from Logan Lake and set up a walk-in clinic at a strip mall on Summit Drive. The Clinic was open until 9:00pm and Walk-in clinics were on their way into Medical culture. Neither of the first two doctors practice at Summit Clinic today. In 1999 Summit Clinic moved down the hill to a new mall at 1380 Summit Drive where we have been for the past fifteen years. The Clinic is appreciated by the patients who are without a family doctor.
