Athens is located in the East-end of Greektown near Pape Station. It's a traditional Greek-style Tavern where lots of locals come to socialize as in Greece. George and George, the two owners, along with their friendly staff work to make sure you have a good time. For food, the Biftekia (herbed spiced meat patties) and lamb chops are recommended, on good days, the owners might fire up the grill for some spit-fired lamb. On Monday nights you can catch a live Greek band playing old favourite Greek Blues (Rembetika).
Highly recommend Athens Restaurant! Delicious food, warm atmosphere, and excellent service make every visit enjoyable. Read more
Voted 'Best Greek Restaurant' for the 18th year in a row by Readers Choice. It starts with fresh ingredients fire-grilled with oil extracted from the sacred fruit of the Gods. The use of this olive elixir is another one of the many health benefits reflected in the Mediterranean fare offered at Mr. Greek. No MSG or tenderizers are used in any of the recipes, and oils used are trans fat free. A healthy regard to great taste is also part of the Mr. Greek dining experience. It begins with one or more of delectable dips and amorous appetizers that are ideal for sharing. Next comes a delicious salad, before the presentation of your main event: a succulent treat from the sea, splendid pasta or a tender piece of meat or chicken expertly grilled. Their aim is to make every occasion a real feast of splendor. Mr. Greek first opened its doors in February of 1988 on The Danforth in Toronto. Since then, every day has been a culinary celebration of your better health and spirited exuberance. This

Four us before a show at the Royal Alexandria - so definitely convenient - especially with the free parking in the metro centre available. Service was good and prompt. Food was tasty. However, portion size could have been bigger, especially for the price! I had chicken souvlaki with all greek salad on the side (asked for no potatoes, not rice, no carbs for me) and it was $19. One skewer of chicken with 5 pieces of meat on it. My husband had the pork souvlaki, $20, and had to pay another $5 for a tiny greek salad on the side. $14 for saganaki. Again, good, but would have been great if portions were a little bigger and or prices were a little cheaper. Read more
