The IWA was founded as the International Woodworkers of America in 1937 when it was a union that represented loggers and millworkers in Canada and the United States. On September 1, 2004, I.W.A. Canada merged with the United Steel workers of America and now in our region, we are known as United Steelworkers, Local 1-424. Our office is opened Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm. Visions has sponsored Canuck Place, local sports teams, and been part of the popular food bank and Christmas tree programs. Visions is also proud to support third world eye care programs by donating new eyeglasses. The ten locations of Visions One Hour Optical are also donation points for used eyeglasses, which also go to the third world, giving needy people the gift of sight.
