In September of 1980 a small shingle mill was being built on the edge of the Fraser River in Matsqui, British Columbia, right in the heart of the thriving cedar shake and shingle industry. The mill started small, but as demand grew, it would slowly begin to expand. Since that opening day, G&R Cedar grew from 1 machine, to 10 by 2003 and have a new Chilliwack location as well where we make sidewall shingles. All along the goal was to make the finest quality products available to the consumer. In order to achieve this goal, our saws and equipment are maintained daily, and precisely, something we take great pride in. Customer satisfaction is, and always will be, our most important objective.

Riverside Shingle Products is owned and operated by Tom and Bill Sutherland, who are fourth generation cedar shake and shingle mill owners/manufacturers.They have been in business together for over 30 years. They spent many years working out of Port Coquitlam, British Columbia and two years ago decided to move their business to their current location in Errington.Bill and Tom take great pride in the quality products they manufacture. Out of respect for natural resource, every part of the raw material is utilized, starting with the manufacture of lumber, shingles and shakes down to the cedar chips and sawdust.
