Our StoryIn 1995 God brought a number of people, led by David and Anita Ruis, to begin a community of faith in the core area of Winnipeg. WCV was born out of a desire to create an authentic community of followers of Jesus Christ, devoted to worshiping him with their whole lives, and extending God's justice to the poor and those who are weak.For us worshipping God is much more than singing a few songs on a Sunday morning. It is a whole lifestyle that includes offering everything that makes us human to God – our minds, bodies, emotions, spirits, cultures, as well as social and economic dimensions.Our worship of Jesus does not stop there. It demands a practical outpouring of love to those around us... especially to those on the margins of society. Our worship lacks integrity if we are not expressing our love for God through loving our neighbour. Likewise, everything we do is worthless if we are not doing it from a foundation of being loved by God, and loving him back. James, Peter and John had only one requirement for Paul and Barnabas when they were sent out on their first missionary journey... that they 'remember the poor' (Gal 2:10).

Our mission is to advance God's Kingdom, cooperating with His restoring work in our hearts, His equipping work in the Church, and His reconciling work in the world West End Christian Community (aka WECC) is a Church in Winnipeg's West End. We meet at 221 Hampton Street, just offPortage - one block west of Berry. We are a non-denominational, charismatic, Bible-believing Christian Church (translation: we love Jesus, follow the Bible, and believe in the Holy Spirit). We meet at 10:00 am for a potluck fellowship brunch, then we have a worship service beginning at 11:00 am.West End Christian Community is led by a team of pastoral leaders, namely Robert Baron, George Balaktsis, Andre Cyr and Vic Geddert. In addition to this pastoral leaders' team, there are many others who serve in various forms of leadership in our Church. The feeling is family, the worship is vibrant and participatory, and the teaching is Bible-based. What We Believe Baptists, since their earliest beginnings, have adopted professions of faith that express consensus with churches that adhere to the same doctrinal beliefs and convey to other Christians and society at large what Baptists believe and practice. Further, the doctrines adhered to are the standard for instruction, counsel and fellowship for the membership. In continuity with our immediate forefathers and the larger fellowship of Baptists throughout history, we seek to practice and propagate by God's grace the following convictions: We believe the Bible is God's Word given by divine inspiration, the record of God's revelation of Himself to humanity.

We are ready to improve the Lord's property at Holy Trinity Cathedral- at our AGM this year we had approved a Capital expenditure project: the repaving of our parking lot, something that regular users of the parking lot all can agree. We need to do this so that we can provide a safer environment for all that visit here. We need to raise approximately $100,000 for this project.
