If there's any truth in advertising, then this place's name says it all. British Style features hand-cut fish and chips. Fish include pickerel, cod, halibut and haddock served with freshly cut chips. Food is affordable, in the the $6-$9 range. The health conscious will be happy to hear that owner/chef Ali Meghji has cut back on the grease (to the disappointment of Rochesterians?) in what is otherwise authentic British cooking. The also feature regular Canadian pub foods like onion rings, salads and fried clams, shrimp and scallops.

This is the best fish and chips that I've ever tried in Toronto. (I went there on the advice of a friend and would have never have gone here without that recommendation). It's a very unassuming place, with fairly drab surroundings. But the fish is top notch, with large portions at a good price. I don't really know what else to say besides that. It's fish and chips and it's GOOD. (If it weren't for the location, I'd come back more often.) Read more

High-end, authentic Portuguese cuisine defines this Little Italy treat, where fresh fish and a classy, unpretentious atmosphere are always the catch of the day. The fresh white ricotta-like queijo fresco amuse bouches and warm basket of sliced cornbread with nutty olive oil dip that launch the experience are well appreciated. From there, online reviewers gush about the quality of the seafood here, pausing particularly to wax over the octopus, monkfish and pan-seared skate fish. The wine list has some unique Portuguese selections, and the staff is well versed in their distinctions. Chiado's décor is simple but stylish, with contemporary art lining the walls and minimally adorned tables draped in double linens.
I loved everything about this restaurant! From the valet service at the door, the discreet but highly efficient service, the fresh and delicious seafood and wonderfully light Molotov dessert, and the extensive list of Portuguese wines. The atmosphere is lively and sophisticated. Nothing dull here. Yes, this has got to be the best Portuguese restaurant in Toronto! Would definitely recommend for special occasions or romantic dinners. Jerking is an ancient process of preserving beef, pork, poultry, and fish that was used before the invention of refrigeration. On the mainland of North America, this process is popularly known as Jerky. The early Native Americans of the Caribbean, the Arawaks and Carib Indians, used local spices and a method of slowly cooking and smoking meats and fish over Pimento Wood.

i need to have my jerk fix at least once a week and this is the best spot in Mississauga - trust me i've tried everything. don't expect the best service or atmosphere - that's not because they are rude or not nice, just seems like a lot of people are going in and out. Also, a few times they've mixed up my order, so make sure they get it exactly right. I've also noticed a few times they over salted, but that's a few times in the many many times i've been there. Overall would highly recommend this spot. Read more
