Royal City Cooperative Preschool is Guelph's first established cooperative preschool. Originally opened in 1969 under the name 'Winnie the Pooh', Royal City Preschool has a long history of providing a play-based learning environment for preschoolers.
Zac's philosophy reflects the view of children as being competent, capable, curious and rich in potential with the support of age appropriate equipment, flexible routines, and provocative environments that encourage curiosity.
Our goals for children are consistent with the Ministry of Education pedagogy and include the following:
-Every child has a sense of belonging when he or she is connected to others and contributes to the world.
-Every child is developing a sense of self, health, and well-being.
-Every child is an active and engaged learner who explores the world with body, mind, and sense.
-Every child is a capable communicator who expresses himself or herself in many ways.

The Salvation Army Erin Mills Child Care Centre is committed to providing children with a solid foundation for the future. We will achieve our commitment by providing an environment, which will nurture each child to grow spiritually, emotionally, intellectually and physically and by treating each child with Love, Dignity and Respect.
We provide enriched academic programs consisting of : language and literacy, mathematics, science, social studies, French, art, and music and movement. We also present extra-curricular activities and programs to children throughout the school year such as Stretch and Grow for Kids and Salsa Babies. We have created a program that promotes each childs natural curiosity. Our program encourages the individual child to explore by providing safe educational materials and equipment and active hands on learning experiences. Our program fulfills each child individual needs and successfully facilitates social, emotional, physical and cognitive development. In a relaxed, yet, stimulating environment children have the opportunity to be active learners through interaction with peers and teachers in small group settings. By providing individual attention to each child, children receive the care they need to flourish.
