The Conseil des écoles fransaskoises (CÉF), a first-language French school system, is one of three legal and equal school systems in Saskatchewan. It is recognized alongside the Public School System and the Separate (Catholic) School System, both of which are English-language school systems.The CÉF administers nine Francophone education areas with a total of 16 Fransaskois schools, including a boarding school and a virtual education school (CEVI). Each area is defined by geographic boundaries within which right holder parents may exercise their right to have their children educated at a Fransaskois school, in accordance with the Saskatchewan Education Act and Section 23 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.The Board of Education (Conseil scolaire fransaskois or CSF) consists of nine trustees elected within the Francophone education areas. Each member represents one education region of the province.
