He then went on to become licensed as a realtor and spent six years selling real estate in the kitchener-Waterloo and Cambridge areas with Remax before returning to Port Elgin in 2001 where he worked for Coldwell Banker before obtaining his Broker's license and starting his own company. Mike also occasionally worked as a reporter for Rogers Television in Kitchener for a year as a hobby. He is also the son of a homebuilder and has built several homes alongside his father, thus he has a good knowledge of construction.
