While I worked in the helping field since the mid-eighties, my work as a professional therapist began in 2000, after I graduated with a Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) at UBC. The people I work with face one or more of the following concerns: anxiety; depression; couple or family issues; grief and loss; low self esteem; residential school; school or workplace concerns; stress and burnout; trauma (PTSD). Learning, attention and behaviour challenges are common when visual development is delayed. Correcting these problems promotes comfort, confidence and ability to learn. Children do not need to know the alphabet or even speak to have an eye exam. We recommend that all children have routine eye exams at 6 months of age and yearly thereafter. We also offer pediatric occupational therapy, which can have a great impact on a child's life.
