While I worked in the helping field since the mid-eighties, my work as a professional therapist began in 2000, after I graduated with a Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) at UBC. Children do not need to know the alphabet or even speak to have an eye exam. We recommend that all children have routine eye exams at 6 months of age and yearly thereafter.
