The Story of Hilltop: What's in a name? Jason was very close to his grandfather. When Jay was growing up he and his Grandad would often take walks together in the farmer's field behind his grandfather's house. They would always find themselves sitting under a tree at the top of a hill. They would share a Caramilk bar and a coke and watch the world go by. Sometimes they talked, sometimes they sat in silence, but every time was a special memory for Jay. When his grandfather passed away, Jay went up to that tree on the hill and cut a small piece of it to keep as a reminder of those good times. A few years later, Jason started his company and decided on the name "Hilltop" and that sentimental piece of wood sits in his office today.
